Tommy Fleetwood enjoyed a fantastic 2025 season, after finally breaking his duck on the PGA Tour.

Before his win at the Tour Championship in August, Fleetwood had notched up 30 top-5 finishes and 44 top-10s on the PGA Tour.

Fleetwood has played some of the best golf of his career in 2025 and he capped it off by helping Europe win the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in September and winning again in India on the DP World Tour in October.

2026 could be an even better year for the 34-year-old Englishman.

There’s every chance that Fleetwood could push Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy for the top two places in the world rankings next year.

It was just so good to see him finally get over the line and chalk up his first PGA Tour win – one that he deserved so much.

However, the fact that he took so long to get over the line was a huge surprise, given his extraordinary talent.

Tommy Fleetwood did something absolutely mind-boggling for 10 years on the PGA Tour

Fleetwood will surely go on to win consistently on the PGA Tour moving forward now.

Is Tommy Fleetwood now part of golf’s ‘big three’ alongside Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy?

When speaking on the Golf Channel Podcast with Rex and Lav, golf analyst Ryan Lavner raved about Fleetwood, naming him as his biggest breakout star of 2025.

He said: For me, the biggest breakout was Tommy Fleetwood. He is no longer just that loveable loser character.

Yes this is a player who’d won seven times in Europe but never in the United States. There always seemed to be over the past decade, like a softness about him. you think back to what happened at the Travelers Championship.

Two bogeys on the final few holes and was nipped by Keegan Bradley. A couple weeks later in Memphis at the FedEx St.Jude Championship, some game-management mistakes late.

He had, entering the Tour Championship, 43 top-10s without a victory, that was so many more than any other player it was absolutely mind-boggling.

Yet, even in the face of all of that adversity, even in the face of all of that disappointment, he was always poised, he was always accountable, he was always introspective, he was always thoughtful.

In the summer he became, in my opinion, one of the most popular players in the world full stop.

I think you saw that outpouring of emotion not just from Tommy Fleetwood but from the golf world at large after what he did at the Tour Championship.

He followed it up a couple months later winning in India on the DP World Tour, a really strong end to the year.

Lavner is right about the Englishman’s popularity. Even the American golf fans were pulling for Fleetwood during the Tour Championship at East Lake.

Aside from Scheffler, Fleetwood was probably the most consistent player on the PGA Tour during the 2025 season.

The Englishman took his game to a whole new level entirely and if truth be known, he should have won at least three times.

Here are his results from the 2025 season, and his consistency shines through.

The challenge now for Fleetwood in 2026 will be to rack up a minimum of two PGA Tour wins and secure a major title as well.

The Englishman certainly has the game, and now he’s proven that he has the mentality required to get over the line as well.
