Tommy Fleetwood has another chance at success this week as he takes on the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Fleetwood has been hugely impressive in 2025, with his season including a maiden PGA Tour win at the Tour Championship.

He also finished as runner-up on one occasion, but also tasted success on the DP World Tour at the DP World India Championship, and just lost in a playoff at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Fleetwood is up to fourth in the world rankings thanks to his stunning efforts, having also climbed to 10th in the Race to Dubai rankings.

Tommy Fleetwood responds when asked if he’s playing the best golf of his career

Ahead of the DP World Tour Championship, Fleetwood was asked on Sky Sports Golf if he’s playing the golf of his life right now.

He replied: “I mean, it’s been a really good period. It’s been a really good period of golf. And yeah, I am playing well. I’m playing very consistently. I feel like I am doing so many things well. And the results are showing that.

“But I’m very aware of what the game of golf can do to you so I’m just trying to do the right things every day and continue to keep my head down and keep working and seeing what the game brings next really.”

Tommy Fleetwood looks back on nightmare Ryder Cup Sunday for Team Europe

There was, of course, also a Ryder Cup victory for Fleetwood earlier this season, as Europe beat the USA in September.

And not only did Fleetwood make an appearance for the visitors, he claimed four points for the winners, more than any other player at the entire tournament.

A singles loss was, however, suffered on Sunday against Justin Thomas as the USA mounted a serious fightback.

The hosts entered the final day trailing 11.5-4.5 before falling just short, with Fleetwood giving his take on just how horrible it was to see the leaderboard filling up with the red of the USA.

He said: “It was honestly… yeah Sunday was a tough day. The guys of us that went out early played well, but you know those matches that go down the 18th that could go either way.

“We were just on a run of getting nothing out of that 18th hole, so many matches went down the 18th and it goes the other way, it’s over in two matches.

“But as it was, you get on that wrong side, you’ve got to give credit to the American team. They came, they showed so much heart, so much fight, they played amazing.

“But also out of that comes unbelievable opportunities. Shane [Lowry], what an amazing moment in his career for him and for the team. So you have to look at that, the opportunities that came from it and the amazing moments that we had.

“And yeah, when you’ve lost your match early, and you’re out there watching, you’ve just got no control over anything and you are powerless, and you’ve lost your match, and you’re watching the guys, you’re willing everything to happen, but you are completely powerless as a player.

“But to watch how it unfolded, to watch Shane’s moment, and to watch us come in on the last and Tyrrell [Hatton] and Bob [MacIntyre], and Ludvig [Aberg] getting our one single point in the singles. To watch that and then eventually after it all, to have gone there and won a Ryder Cup, amazing.”

It was truly an unforgettable day for Luke Donald and his players, with Irishman Lowry sinking the putt to retain the trophy for Europe.

Making the victory more special was the abuse that many European Ryder Cup players received from the American fans at Bethpage Black.

But ultimately the deserving champions prevailed, with the American players left disappointed and frustrated at falling short on home soil.
