Olympic golf is just a few days from teeing off and South Korean superstar Tom Kim has been offering up his thoughts on Le Golf National.

A former Ryder Cup course, Le Golf National is one of the most challenging courses in Europe and whoever wins the gold medal in Paris will have well and truly earned it.

Kim, of course, is just one of a number of top names who have made their way to France this summer to compete.

Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele are there for the USA, while Rory McIlroy will represent Ireland and Tommy Fleetwood – who has already had his say in the past on Le Golf National – comes over for Team GB.

Naturally, given the quality on display, anyone can win it.

Le Golf National will indeed be a tough test, and Tom Kim has admitted that things might be a touch easier than he imagined initially.

Tom Kim shares why Le Golf National could be slightly easier than he thought

Speaking to the press ahead of teeing off and representing South Korea in Paris, Kim gave his verdict on just how Le Golf National might play out.

“Yeah, the course is actually looking really, really good. I was expecting a lot more rough than I would imagine because of the Ryder Cup, and I played here last year at The French Open,” Kim said.

“But the course is actually looking in really good shape. I think it’s going to be a really good test of golf for everyone.

“You really can’t fake it around here. You have to play some really good golf around here to win medals and I think it’s going to be a great test.”

A par 71, the course in Paris plays over 7000 yards nowadays and has a record score of 62 (nine under par) – shot by Eduardo Romero back in 2005.

It last hosted the Ryder Cup in 2018, then Thomas Bjorn led Team Europe to a 17 and a half to ten and a half hammering of the USA.
