Tiger Woods and his Jupiter Links Golf Club team have just picked up their first TGL victory, having beaten Boston Common Golf 4-3.

Rory McIlroy loved seeing Woods play TGL, with the two co-creators of the tournament having gone head-to-head for the first time.

It was a night for firsts at Florida’s SoFi Center, with Woods handed the first shot clock violation while a team won in overtime for the first time.

McIlroy and Woods faced off in the singles, with the former having been representing Boston Common on their first TGL match.

He was joined by teammates Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley, with Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner playing with Woods for Jupiter Links.

Tom Kim blown away by having Tiger Woods read his putts in TGL win

All eyes focused on Woods and McIlroy, but Kim could be the perfect TGL player after his impressive display.

And such a performance was certainly appreciated by the 15-time major winner as he carried out a post-match interview with Kim for Jupiter Links.

Taking Kim’s microphone, Woods said: “I’ll hold it for you, you carried us all night,” with his fellow American saying: “I think it’s hard to put into words how cool this was.

“Instead of being outside for four or five hours a day, to just spending an hour to two just grinding on some shots, and having this team environment.

“Certain putts… I could have never imagined Tiger trying to read my putts for me, like ever, in my life growing up. So to have him behind me, to celebrate with him and with Kiz (Kisner) as well, it was just so much fun.”

Tiger Woods makes Kevin Kisner work out before TGL victory

TGL arguably had its most successful round yet, with previous matches having not been as entertaining given the huge imbalances in the scoring.

The mere presence of the likes of Woods and McIlroy undoubtedly played its part in that success, but Kim’s display was also a huge factor.

It also didn’t hurt to have Team USA Ryer Cup captain Bradley involved, but all six players certainly played their part throughout the two-hour encounter.

Kisner even managed to provide an entertaining fitness update during the match, revealing on hole eight: “Tiger made me work out with him pre-match, and that was the first workout in 2025, so I feel good baby, I’m jazzed.”

The American continued: “I haven’t had a penalty shot yet so that’s the most impressive thing so far for me.”
