While there may not have been a team in worse form heading into TGL, Jupiter Links were always likely to be the most entertaining, with the likes of Tiger Woods, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim in the ranks.

Of course, Jupiter Links endured a nightmare opening game, losing 12-1 to Los Angeles earlier this month. However, they did provide what could well prove to be the best moment of season one of TGL, with Kevin Kisner thinning his bunker shot into the flag when the ball appeared set to fly across the arena.

They have made a change ahead of their match with Boston Common, with Tom Kim replacing Max Homa.

Tiger Woods shares what skill Tom Kim has he would love

It is definitely going to be fascinating to see how the South Korean adapts to playing in the SoFi Center. Team competition has seen some of Kim’s best performances in the last few years, with the 22-year-old proving to be the Internationals’ talisman at the last two Presidents Cups.

So perhaps it is not surprising that, when asked which skill of Tom Kim’s he would take, Tiger Woods looked towards his energy.

“Tom’s passion, and his youthfulness to learn, I think that’s inspiring. We’re always trying to get better, and the way TK goes about it, I think is really neat. He has this exciting passion of how he wants to get better and the little things he needs to do,” he said.

An important year for Tom Kim on the PGA Tour

This year arguably needs to be something of a comeback year for Kim after a frustrating 2024. One of the most notable moments came when he played the final three holes of the FedEx St. Jude Championship in five over par to fall out of the top 50 in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Ultimately, just two top 10s throughout the PGA Tour season is simply not enough for a player of Kim’s talent. And he did have a disappointing Presidents Cup when it came to winning points.

There were brighter signs as he finished second at the Hero World Challenge in December. But a missed cut at The American Express and a tied 65th place finish at the Sony Open shows that the youngster still has work to do before he is contending for victories on the PGA Tour again.
