Scottie Scheffler is the favourite to win The Masters at Augusta National this year.

The Masters is finally here, after a very long nine-month wait from the last Major Championship at Royal Troon.

Tom Kim and Scottie Scheffler will both have aspirations of winning around Augusta National this year, but the latter’s chances are far greater than the former’s.

The one thing that could hold the 28-year-old American back is his putting.

However, Scottie Scheffler’s form on the greens has been described as ‘ridiculously good’ heading into The Masters, after his fine showing at The Houston Open.

Scheffler made 61 of 63 putts inside 10 feet that week (Data Golf). And if he emulates those kind of numbers this week, he will almost certainly win his third green jacket.

Tom Kim makes Scottie Scheffler prediction ahead of The Masters

Kim and Scheffler are great friends off the course.

They spent Wednesday playing alongside one another during the famed par three contest.

And Kim shared his admiration for his friend ahead of the 89th Masters.

The 22-year-old three-time PGA Tour winner also confidently predicted that Scheffler will continue to achieve great success in the game:

He’s very well grounded. I think his competitiveness is unlike any other, and I think it shows when he plays golf. Definitely, when he’s trying to take my money or win a major championship, the competitive look in his eyes really looks the same.

I think the way he handles himself off the golf course, I think he’s done such a tremendous job of handling his success. It hasn’t gotten to him. He’s still the same guy when I first met him, and he still loves to compete and enjoys the process of get can better.
I think that’s why he’s been able to be so consistent for so long. We haven’t seen this good of golf since Tiger Woods, and there’s a reason to it. I definitely know the work he does behind the scenes is why. It’s definitely helped the game of golf.

I think now, all of us players know the caliber we need to be at to win these golf tournaments. So kudos to him. I’m really happy for him, really happy for his success, and I’m sure he’s going to continue to do so.

What time is Scottie Scheffler teeing of at The Masters on Thursday and Friday

The defending Masters champion has landed on the early/late side of the draw.

He will tee it up on Thursday at 10:15am local time before starting his round on Friday in the afternoon at 1:23pm.

The Texan has been paired alongside Justin Thomas and Jose Luis Ballester.

Scottie Scheffler is the red-hot favourite to be at the top of the leaderboard come Sunday evening.

Tom Kim will obviously like to get one over his long time friend by pipping him to the trophy.

His chances of doing just that are very slim though.
