Tiger Woods is back walking the fairways and swinging a golf club and as always, everyone in golf is just as excited as they always get about seeing him back playing.

After competing but struggling in 2024, Woods goes into 2025 with plenty of uncertainty.

Golf fans were impressed with Woods after footage emerged of him swinging at the TGL facility and ahead of teeing it up with son Charlie at the PNC Championship this weekend, Tiger is once again in optimistic spirits.

Of course, given the injuries Tiger has had, the fact he’s even still playing is remarkable.

But speaking about his motivation to keep plodding on, it seems Woods is very much just like the rest of us when it comes being addicted to the game.

Tiger Woods admits why he still loves to try and play golf

Speaking in an interview with the Golf Channel, Woods reflected on his career so far and what might still be to come.

And while he admitted to not being the player he once was, he explained what still motivates him to keep on grinding.

“I have fun, I love golf. I love the process of it and trying to figure it out. Certainly nowhere near as good as I used to be but I still love hitting the ball out of the middle of the face,” Woods commented.

“I still enjoy shaping shots and I can do that to certain extent. I just enjoy the process of trying to get better. We all do it, you play it, I play it we all play it and are addicted to this game. It keeps bringing us back.”

Tiger Woods’ worst injuries as 2025 season draws near

It’s safe to say that Tiger Woods has had his fair share of ups and downs in his golf career and most of the negatives have been related to injuries or off-course matters.

But, it’s also hard not to feel sorry for the man given the extent and regularity of his injury problems.

As mentioned, the sheer fact he is swinging a golf club and walking the fairways can be considered a minor miracle.

If Woods manages to play in the four majors in 2025 and can make the cuts at least, then that will be successful. If not, then like always, he’ll be disappointed and talk of retirement will rear its head again.
