Picking the best four players of all time in any sports is a hard task but given Tiger Woods’ standing in the game, he’s very well placed to make a good fist of it.

Woods has won 15 majors and is the joint record holder for PGA Tour wins with 82.

Despite not featuring as much in recent years as injuries rob us of seeing more of Woods in action, he very much remains a focal point in golf.

Indeed, if Tiger Woods is naming his best ever golfers and doing his ‘Mount Rushmore’, then it’s worth taking note of.

Luckily for golf fans, Woods did just that back in 2018.

Tiger Woods names his Mount Rushmore of all-time golfers

Back in 2018, Tiger Woods was doing media duties around the upcoming Ryder Cup and he was asked the golden question around his Mount Rushmore of golfers.

And despite not going with too many surprises, Woods did quite brilliantly include himself.

“My all time Mount Rushmore of golf, ok. Erm…Snead, Jones [Bobby], Nicklaus and me,” Woods quipped.

Who Jack Nicklaus picked as his Mount Rushmore of golfers

Listening to Tiger Woods pick the three names and himself as he did, it’s little surprise really. It is quite amusing that he included himself, but that just shows the confidence he has in himself and the winning mentality that’s made him so great.

However, it is also a common theme it seems in these selections.

In picking his own Mount Rushmore, Jack Nicklaus picked Woods as one but then also included himself.

“Probably be Bobby Jones, probably be Ben Hogan, probably Tiger Woods. I’d like to join them. Myself, that’s four,” Nicklaus said previously.

Obviously, it is all theoretical but it would have been a dream situation to see the golfers mentioned here all competing at the same time.

Quite who’d have come out on top, is one of golf’s great debates.
