Tiger Woods is back in action at The Open this week as the world of golf eagerly looks on at how he’ll do.

The 15-time major winner has made the cut just once in his three major outings this season and even then, he finished last of the 60 at The Masters.

Nevertheless, excitement is in air around Royal Troon as Tiger prepares to tee it up.

Indeed, a solid tee-shot from Woods on the Postage Stamp 8th hole during practice has got the juices flowing for some fans.

Of course, some of the build up to Tiger’s round has been dominated by comments from Colin Montgomerie suggesting he retire, something Woods snapped back at on Tuesday in his presser.

But away from that, and simply talking about golf, Woods has shared some of his usual nuggets of information on how he thinks Royal Troon will play.

Tiger Woods shares why some golfers could go low during The Open this week

Airing his thoughts on how he saw the week going out on course at Royal Troon, Woods explained why he feels that on at least nine of the holes, low scores could be incoming.

“I am really looking forward to it. I didn’t get a chance to play it last time it was here. I am looking forward to the challenges,” Woods said.

“I have got around here a couple of times. The have lengthened quite a few holes, it’s a lot longer golf course. A few added bunkers here and there.

“It’s one of those golf courses where it’s going to get it on one of the nines. It’s either going out it’s going to be downwind or coming home it’s going to be into the wind or vice versa.

“Nine holes are going to be playing really difficult and the other ones are definitely gettable.”

With Woods feeling the strain on his body around the hills of Augusta and in tough conditions at the US Open, there is a hope Troon will be a bit more forgiving.

Indeed, Woods has won three Open Championship’s before, so is more than capable on the UK links courses.

Here’s hoping, then, that Tiger can roll back the years.
