Tiger Woods certainly enjoyed TGL opening night, despite the 15-time major champion not taking part in the first match.

Woods will make his TGL debut on 14 January, when his Jupiter Links GC side take on Los Angeles Golf Club.

The American was, however, on commentary duties on TGL opening night, where The Bay Golf Club thumped New York Golf Club 9-2.

Woods was joined by his fellow TGL founder Rory McIlroy, who makes his competition debut for Boston Common Golf on 27 January.

McIlroy is really excited about TGL, which combines virtual and real-life play at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach, Florida.

Tiger Woods completes camera challenge on TGL opening night

Before any action got underway, however, Woods revealed he was challenged to hit the camera at the top of the giant screen.

“I hit it kind of middle of the screen, high middle, and the guy says ‘Can you hit the camera?’” Woods told McIlroy and TGL CEO Mike McCarley, as per TGL. “And I said ‘I don’t know, where’s the camera?’ ‘Up top’. ‘Okay, hold on’. First shot.”

Who is Tiger Woods playing with at TGL?

TGL opening night certainly lived up to expectations, with Woods having been glad that it was delayed by a year due to issues with the SoFi Center dome.

Those watching on inside seemingly enjoyed the action, which saw the likes of Ludvig Aberg and Shane Lowry take on Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler.

The European pair came out on top alongside Wyndham Clark, with Matt Fitzpatrick the third member of the losing side.

Focus now turns to legendary figure Woods and Jupiter Links, which also features Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner.

The quartet boast more PGA Tour wins than any other TGL side, although Woods is to thank for 82 of their 94 total.

But Los Angeles are certain to more than put up a fight, with the side comprising Collin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Tommy Fleetwood, and Justin Rose.
