Day three of the Olympic golf event at Le Golf National is well and truly underway – and there have been some eye-catching scores in Paris.
Tommy Fleetwood, Xander Schauffele and Hideki Matsuyama are the pacesetters at the Ryder Cup venue. The Englishman, who is still winless on the PGA Tour, is chasing what would be the most significant win of his career.
Further down the leaderboard, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are jostling for position ahead of Sunday’s final round at Le Golf National.
Here, The Golfing Gazette examines three players who have caught the eye on day three.

Byeong-Hun An makes significant charge
Byeong-Hun An is currently eight under for the day through 12 holes. The South Korean carded six birdies on his front nine and picked up shots on the 10th and 11th.
The 32-year-old is desperate to make the podium with the prospect of national service looming large.
A medal in Paris would mean the 32-year-old is exempt from the usually mandatory 21 months in his homeland.
Wyndham Clark answers USA critics
Wyndham Clark left USA fans raging after his dismal start to the Paris event, but the 2023 US Open winner has answered his critics over the last 36 holes.
The American is six under through 17 and now tied for 24th. Significantly, the 30-year-old has now moved ahead of his USA teammate Collin Morikawa.
After struggling for large parts of the season, particularly in the majors, Clark will be desperate to finish the Olympics strongly.
Viktor Hovland bounces back from nightmare round two
Viktor Hovland kicked off his second round with a triple bogey on the first hole, which included two balls in the water.
But the Norwegian finished on four under on day three and one-under-par for the tournament. Ahead of a busy end-of-season schedule that includes the PGA Tour playoffs, a positive finish to the Paris Olympics will stand the 26-year-old in good stead as he looks to defend his FedEx Cup crown.
