For any golfer, getting a PGA Tour card is the pinnacle of the game and three players who’ve had big success on the DP World Tour will now get their chance.
While the DP World Tour is excellent in its own right, the road to getting a PGA Tour card is very much what most golfers in the professional game set out to do.
New rules mean that ten players from the DP get the chance to test their skills on the PGA side each year and follow the likes of Bob MacIntyre and Matt Wallace into making a success of things in America.
This weekend, we’ve seen the conclusion of the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi as Tyrrell Hatton lost out to Paul Waring by two shots.
And in a bonus for three players in the event, the result has confirmed their status as PGA Tour players for 2025.

PGA Tour beckons for three DP World Tour stars after Paul Waring wins the HSBC Championship
After the tournament came to a close with Waring’s emotional win, three players – including Waring – have now confirmed their eligibility for the PGA Tour.
Confirmed by the popular golf journalist Flushing It on X, Waring, Thriston Lawrence, and Rasmus Hojgaard have all now sealed their place for 2025.
Paul Waring puts himself in Ryder Cup contention with HSBC win
While many will have expected both Thriston Lawrence and Rasmus Hojgaard to appear on the PGA Tour at some point, the addition of the experienced Waring is a feel good story.
However, Waring has been warned by Wayne Riley of just how difficult it can be to combine both tours if that’s the route he chooses.
With that, it will be interesting to see just how Waring goes about his business and if he really goes for it.
After all, he has now rocketed into contention for a Ryder Cup spot, sitting in fifth in the automatic qualifiers as things stand.
Playing on the PGA Tour events will only help his cause and while some of the ‘bigger names’ may knock him out of the running, he can give it a good go.
