The three LIV Golf players who the PGA actually want back on their tour if a deal is reached

The PGA Tour and LIV Golf remain at a bit of a standstill in terms of progress on talks to bring the game of golf back together in some way or another.

Ever since a number of players moved over to the LIV Tour for huge amounts of money, it’s been a constant talking point in the golfing world.

Those talking points aren’t going anywhere soon either. This week has seen the who debacle discussed at length after an apparent fresh round of talks between LIV and the PGA.

Still, with the stumbling blocks described by Rory McIlroy very much preventing any real progress, it seems we are some distance away from any actual deal.

Further still, there remains a huge debate among the golfing world as to who actually on the LIV Tour would be wanted back by the PGA.

Yes, there are some good players on LIV but the PGA is also stacked.

And according to Golf Digest, there are only actually THREE LIV stars who the PGA are really keen to see back on their own turf.

Bryson DeChambeau among three LIV Golf stars the PGA Tour would take back

According to the report, there are players over on LIV who would be wanted back by the PGA but surprisingly, that number is quite low.

It’s claimed that Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau are the main three who the PGA would like to get back involved if possible.

Rahm’s status as a top player in the world is obvious, while Koepka is a five-time major winner and was a cornerstone of the PGA Tour before leaving.

With DeChambeau, his popularity is obvious and despite previous issues, he is a huge hit with fans around the world.

Who else would be considered by the PGA Tour?

It’s always speculative to suggest who might come back but the report from Golf Digest here claims that the likes of Dustin Johnson and Cam Smith might be welcomed back.

Despite Joaquin Niemann impressing on LIV, it’s suggested that PGA officials haven’t been too impressed with his constant digs at the PGA Tour.

While for Phil Mickelson, the door looks completely shut.

We wait and see. But for now, it looks like any return for the LIV players onto the PGA Tour seems convoluted and in a way, at the discretion of PGA officials anyway.
