With the Scottish Open just days away now, many PGA Tour players are sampling some of Scotland’s great old golf courses.
The Scottish Open boasts a stellar field led by Scottie Scheffler, as the world’s best players warm up for The Open at Royal Portrush next week.
In the buildup to The Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club, situated in North Berwick, there have been numerous top PGA Tour stars spotted playing around some of the most famous old links courses.
Daniel Berger and Michael Kim were spotted at North Berwick, while Robert MacIntyre enjoyed a round at The Machrihanish Golf Club.
However, North Berwick Golf Club seems to be the spot where most tour players are taking in a few holes this week.
The fact that it is situated just down the road from The Renaissance Club is obviously a big bonus, but it is a golf course in general that should be near the top of every golfer’s bucket list.
The score Ryan Fox shot around North Berwick ahead of The Scottish Open
Ryan Fox has two PGA Tour wins to his name this season at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic and the Canadian Open.

He has really gone from strength to strength this season.
Fox is one of only six golfers on the PGA TOUR to have won more than twice this season, and he will fancy himself at the Scottish Open and The Open over the course of these next two weeks.
His game certainly looks in good shape right now.
Fox breezed around North Berwick in seven-under par 64 on Monday – a round that consisted of eight birdies and a solitary bogey!
Very good golf indeed from Fox around a golf course that certainly isn’t easy to compile a score on.
He’ll be feeling very good ahead of the Scottish Open this week.
Everything you need to know about North Berwick Golf Club
North Berwick is a par 71 that stretches to 6,464 off the back tees.
It is a short and tight links course, with incredibly complex green designs.
That is obviously North Berwick’s main defence in this day and age, given the fact that the golf course measures under 6,500 yards.
It is the 13th oldest golf course in the world, and was the first club in the world to allow female members.
The 15th hole at North Berwick known as ‘The Redan’ is world famous and has been copied the world over.
The green is narrow and angled away from the tee, meaning that shot shape is crucial to avoiding trouble on the 15th at North Berwick.
Visitors can play the course but it doesn’t come cheap! In peak times in the summer, it costs around $430 to turn up and play North Berwick.
It is a magnificent golf course, with real history associated to it. If you ever get the chance, and are fortunate enough to be able to afford it, playing North Berwick is an absolute must.
