Scottie Scheffler has been in sensational form on the PGA Tour this season.

Scheffler actually made a slow start to 2025, but he has turned things around over the past month with three PGA Tour wins in his last four starts, including one major.

The 28-year-old has been streets ahead of his competitors over the past 18 months or so.

So much so that Scheffler has been drawing comparisons with Tiger Woods.

Back in 2024, Woods actually suggested that if Scheffler putts well he is almost guaranteed to win.

And the 15-time major winner is spot on there – Scheffler’s ball-striking is on another planet to anyone else on tour.

The Dallas native is incredibly consistent, and he has made 56 consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour.

Now Scheffler has made a big change to his schedule from last year.

Golf fans react as Scottie Scheffler commits to The Genesis Scottish Open

Scheffler has officially committed to The Genesis Scottish Open.

He said, “I’m looking forward to getting back to the Genesis Scottish Open next month. It’s an event and a course I enjoy playing given we only get to play links golf a couple of times a year. Playing in such a strong field and in front of the Scottish fans is always fun for us.”

That’s a smart move from the world number one.

Despite the fact that he usually takes the week off before a major, he needs to get some practice in on the links ahead of the Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

And some golf fans think Scheffler has definitely done the right thing by committing to play at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, in July.

One fan shared his delight that Scheffler has committed to The Genesis Scottish Open, Great news. Open has been his weakest major so far in his career. This might help him acclimate.

While another said, Good to hear: US Open, Travelers, Scottish, The Open and then the three playoffs, I assume.

A third fan was delighted as well, Get in! I want to see a Rory v Scottie v Bobby Mac final day.

Meanwhile, a fourth Scottie fan said, He’s unstoppable right now. Don’t blame him.

A fifth fan then praised Scheffler for his decision to play the Scottish Open, Good man Scottie. It’s a shame other countries that don’t host PGA events don’t get the chance to see him. It’s my only fault that I have with him and to be considered a great he needs to do it. Then again maybe he doesn’t see the need and that’s alright too.

While a sixth golf fan said, The way he’s playing, it makes sense. He’s been on a roll.

Before a seventh fan simply said, Aw that’s good.

Scheffler will have nothing but greatness in mind now

Scheffler’s career record makes for very impressive reading.

Here is how his numbers stack up so far:

AchievementsScottie Scheffler’s results
Events played144
Major wins3
PGA Tour wins16
Top-10s70
Top-5s51
Cuts made125

That’s quite the win rate, especially when considering the fact that his first victory didn’t come until 2022.

Scheffler has everything needed to go on and become a true legend of the game.

However, to reach the very top tier, he will need to win The Open at some point, and playing in The Genesis Scottish Open will give him a better chance of doing just that.
