The PGA Tour are constantly looking for new ways to improve the product on offer for the fans.
Since the inception of LIV Golf, the PGA Tour have had to up their game, there is no question about that.
Golf fans have been asking for the two tours to combine together, so that they can watch the best players in the world compete alongside one another outside of the four major championships.
However, it has been claimed that a merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf will never happen, unfortunately.
Meanwhile, Lucas Glover said that he doesn’t want LIV golfers back on the PGA Tour.
And in the meantime, both tours are continuously trying to move the needle when it comes to building a better product for golf fans.
Golf fans react as PGA TOUR offer viewers a new way to consume coverage
The PGA Tour are set to roll out a new initiative this week called ‘rapid rounds’.

This means fans will get the chance to watch every single shot of their favourite players’ rounds with no interruption, and in ‘rapid’ style.
The way the world has gone means that fans want to consume their content instantly and most importantly, quickly.
The new initiative was announced earlier this week by the PGA Tour Executive Vice President Nob Gambuzza.
He said: “With more cameras and streams covering PGA Tour tournaments than ever before, Rapid Rounds will offer an additional way for fans to watch each drive, approach and putt from select players showcased across all our media platforms. Whether reliving an incredible round, catching up on the game’s biggest names, or if they missed that day’s action, Rapid Rounds offers a fast, easy way for fans to engage with their favorite stars and get excited for the next day’s live coverage.“
And it seems like many golf fans are on board with the PGA Tour’s move.
One fan said: “Finally! love this. Thumbs up for the PGA TOUR doing something reasonable this week.“
While another fan suggested that the move was long overdue: “Welcome to the 21st century. Thank you.“
A third golf fan is excited about the change: “Live golf spends so much time on ads it’s unwatchable so why not try, fed up with ‘while you were away’.“
Meanwhile, a fourth fan explained why they are on board with the new initiative: “I love this! I’m always looking for these on YouTube. Would also love if they did rapid rounds for a grouping. You got a group of three playing, do a rapid round of all three. Take some of the in between away.“
Whilst a fifth fan thinks the new concept will draw in increased viewership: “Think it will draw in an increase in viewership-which is a great thing.“
Then a sixth fan said: “I think this is a great idea and step in the right direction for the PGA Tour but is this for all players or just ones on featured groups?“
A seventh golf fan simply said: “I like this.“
Before an eighth fan reacted with one word: “Strong.“
One concern about the PGA Tour’s ‘rapid rounds’
Some fans are suggesting that the ‘rapid rounds’ available to them will only feature the top players in the world.
And the problem with that is that those players are in the featured groups, so all of their shots are available to view anyway.
However, there is still a lot to be said for being able to whizz through your favourite player’s round in under half an hour.
In an extremely busy world now where everyone is on the move at all times, the PGA Tour’s ‘rapid rounds’ initiative definitely seems to be a big win amongst the fans.
