TGL producer Jeff Neubarth is already looking ahead to next year’s edition of the tech-infused venture, and he’s shared an exciting update.
Overall, the TGL should be viewed as a success. At a time when professional golf needs to be entertaining, watching Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy compete in a state-of-the-art simulator arena ticks many boxes.
However, there have been hurdles.
After positive viewing figures from the first week’s action, the TV ratings have slowly declined, and the most recent set fixtures have drawn the smallest audience to date.
What’s more, questions have emerged around the accuracy of the simulator after Tiger Woods saw a wedge shot go 30 yards long and one of Tommy Fleetwood’s efforts wasn’t picked up.
TGL producer discusses season two of TGL
Neubarth, speaking during the latest Golf Channel Podcast, remains optimistic about the league’s future.
The TGL producer also revealed he’s had several phone calls about exciting technological developments that could potentially be implemented in season two.
“It’s really funny because I started an Apple note probably in October called ‘season two wishlist’. I am so deep into that note right now that I would probably need an entire off-season just to read it and re-prioritise. There are so many things that are opportunities for us to do to get better,” Neubarth said.
“I think one thing which has been super exciting for me is that a lot of people, whether it’s in the golf industry or another industry, love to be a fast second to something. There are so many technology partners we kind of talked with and said these are some thoughts and ideas, and we’d love you to come check out TGL and see it.”
The TGL chief continued: “And they were like, we want to wait and see it first. Now they have seen it; every day goes by with a call, text or email in some form of technology which has a camera that can plus up this or has a technology which can plus up that or a graphic operation which could make this unique.
There are so many things we are going to be able to do for the next season.”

Latest TGL standings after mid-week action
Three rounds of fixtures took place earlier this week. Los Angeles Golf Club, who signed Tony Finau on a one-game contract, produced a stunning comeback on Monday (February 24) to beat New York Golf Club.
4-0 down, LAGC picked up four points in three holes to tie the match before prevailing in overtime. Elsewhere, McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf continued to struggle.
Atlanta Drive GC ran out 6-3 victors on Tuesday to leave McIlroy’s side on the cusp of elimination. Another team close to missing out on the end-of-season playoffs are Jupiter Links. Tiger Woods’ team lost 6-3 to The Bay Golf Club on Wednesday.
The Bay Golf Club, Los Angeles Golf Club and Atlanta Drive have all confirmed their spots in the season-ending playoffs.
