Scottie Scheffler really is one of a kind, and he proved that yet again during the final round of the PGA Championship on Sunday.

There aren’t many professional golfers who could have bounced back in the fashion that he did on the back nine, after struggling so badly on the front side.

Scheffler is obviously incredibly strong mentally, but having someone like Ted Scott on the bag is clearly a huge difference-maker for the 28-year-old.

The PGA Championship this week at Quail Hollow was dominated by the American, although for a while early on in his fourth round it looked like he could actually throw it away.

There were emotional scenes on the 18th hole, as Scheffler’s father told the world number one just how proud he is of him.

The Dallas native really did show incredible heart to turn things around after his front nine.

Ted Scott reveals what he said to Scottie Scheffler during the PGA Championship final round

Things weren’t going right at all for the now three-time major winner during his front nine at Quail Hollow on Sunday.

He was missing every shot to the left, and his swing just seemed to be well out of sync.

So did he lean on his caddie to lend some support?

Of course he did. And what the ever-reliable Scott told him summed up their relationship perfectly.

Scheffler’s caddie spoke after his man’s win at Quail Hollow, and lifted the lid on the conversation he had with the world number one when Jon Rahm tied him for the lead.

He said, Well, he was hitting everything left, and he was like, ‘you see anything’? I said, ‘the swing looks good but everything’s going left, maybe aim right, I don’t know’. I was just trying to be an idiot and see what happened. He stepped up on 10 and hit a great drive and I said, ‘there he is’. That was the only thing I said to him, and then he started hitting it great and feeling good and comfortable, and knowing where the ball was going to come off, and I was like, ‘here we go baby’.

Isn’t that just a great example of keeping your man relaxed and supremely calm in the heat of battle.

Well done Ted Scott – you certainly had a huge role to play in Scheffler’s win at the PGA Championship.

Rich Beem in awe of something Scottie Scheffler did at the PGA Championship

Scheffler is truly awesome to watch.

However, Rich Beem pointed out something about him that is simply brilliant, and not many people really notice it.

Beem said, Just standing in the middle of the fairway like that. I was just in awe of his posture, he is a tall man anyways, but he was standing so perfectly straight. It was great posture. I just love watching this guy play golf.

That’s absolutely spot on from Beem.

Scheffler’s basics are what makes him so good, and his elite posture was the cornerstone of his PGA Championship victory.

Now the only question that remains is how many majors can Scheffler win before he hangs up his clubs? I would be shocked if he didn’t get past 10 as a bare minimum.
