Wyndham Clark caused plenty of controversy on the PGA Tour throughout the 2025 season.
Clark struggled badly on the golf course, with only two top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour to his name in 24 events, as well as five missed cuts.
He’s now tied for the lead at the Hero World Challenge with two rounds still to play, so he could finish off his year in style with two rounds in the mid-60s.
The 31-year-old caused plenty of controversy throughout 2025 with multiple eyebrow-raising incidents raising questions about his character.
Clark damaged the Oakmont lockers during the US Open back in June, and was subsequently banned from playing the golf course in the foreseeable future.
Do you think Tiger should invite LIV golfers to compete at the Hero World Challenge?
However, that wasn’t the first time he displayed an egregious lack of discipline in 2025.
Clark threw his driver into an advertising board at Quail Hollow during the PGA Championship back in May.
He made a grovelling apology afterwards, but that simply wasn’t enough in many fans’ eyes.
Wyndham Clark delivers PGA Tour season verdict
Clark is quite obviously an elite golfer.
The American proved that with his win at the US Open back in 2023. However, he has failed to really kick on from that victory.
The 31-year-old has returned to form this week in the Bahamas and what better way to bow out from an underwhelming season than with a win against some of the best golfers in the world?
Clark spoke to reporters after his second round 68 at Albany to follow his 66 on Thursday, and responded when asked to sum up his 2025 season as a whole.
He said: “An F that became an F-plus. It just was a bad year. A lot of crap happened and then I kind of salvaged it at the end.

“But the good thing is we’ve got next year and we’re almost done. So yeah, I’m looking forward to next year.“
Clark certainly sounds more positive now about his game than he did earlier on in the year.
Wyndham Clark’s 2025 PGA Tour season in numbers
Clark’s problems throughout 2025 have been well-documented.
Here are his results throughout the year, and they make for pretty grim reading, given what he is actually capable of:
| Achievements | Clark’s totals |
| Events played | 24 |
| Wins | 0 |
| Top-5s | 2 |
| Top-10s | 2 |
| Top-25s | 8 |
| Missed cuts | 5 |
As Clark said, he improved his form later on in the season but nothing less than a win at the Hero World Challenge will do this week, if he is to class 2025 as anything better than a poor season.
However, whatever happens this week, the key for Clark will be to work as hard as he possibly can throughout the off-season, if he is to have any chance whatsoever of rediscovering his very best form in 2026.
