The PGA Tour heads to Japan this week for the Baycurrent Classic, formerly known as the Zozo Championship.
The Baycurrent Classic kicks off in earnest this week, with some big-name PGA Tour players in the field, including Xander Schauffele and home favorite Hideki Matsuyama.
Adam Scott is also in the Baycurrent Classic field, and he will be debuting a fresh set of irons and a new putter in Japan this week.
The Yokohama Country Club is a fantastic golf course, and it should play host to a really exciting tournament this week.
Numerous out-of-form players will be desperate to turn things around, including the aforementioned Schauffele and Matsuyama and, indeed, Collin Morikawa.
However, another PGA Tour player has unfortunately had to pull out of the event.
Tony Finau withdraws from Baycurrent Classic
It has just been announced that Tony Finau will not be playing this week after he withdrew from the Baycurrent Classic for unspecified reasons.

Finau really struggled on the PGA Tour in 2025, especially on the greens, and he will be desperate to find some form ahead of the start of the 2026 season.
However, his withdrawal from the Baycurrent Classic is hardly the ideal start for him on his quest to rediscover his best form.
The man from Salt Lake City, Utah, hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since April 2023.
With six PGA Tour wins to his name, Finau has proven himself at the very highest level throughout the years, but his game has deserted him over the past 12 months.
Let’s hope that whatever has prevented him from playing in Japan is nothing too serious.
PGA Tour Communications confirmed Finau’s withdrawal in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Tony Finau’s replacement for the Baycurrent Classic named
With Finau missing the event at Yokohama Country Club, his replacement has already been named.
Sam Ryder will fill in for the 36-year-old in Japan this week.
Ryder, 35, has played 224 events on the PGA Tour in his career and is still waiting for his first win.
During his time on tour he has made 126 cuts and recorded 20 top-10 finishes.
Who knows, perhaps Finau’s misfortune will end up being a real blessing for Ryder at the Baycurrent Classic as he looks to bag his first ever win on the PGA Tour.
Hopefully Finau resolves whatever issues he may have quickly, and returns to his best form as soon as possible because the PGA Tour is better off when he’s near the top of the leaderboards.
