Keegan Bradley has made a shock admission after claiming his seventh PGA Tour victory at the BMW Championship.

The 38-year-old only just made it through to the event at Castle Pines after finishing 50th in the FedEx Cup standings upon the conclusion of the St Jude Championship.

After a close-fought contest in Denver, Bradley edged out Adam Scott, Ludvig Aberg and Sam Burns by a shot after finishing on 12 under.

Bradley has now catapulted himself up to fourth in the FedEx Cup standings and stands an excellent chance of landing golf’s most lucrative prize at East Lake.

Speaking in the aftermath of his win at Castle Pines, Bradley claimed he was still in a state of shock after only just making the field.

“I am in a bit of a state of shock because there was a time about a week ago, about this time, where I didn’t think I was going to be coming here,” Bradley said. “So I had to have a lot of magical things happen to me to just play in this tournament.”

The USA Ryder Cup captain then admitted he was calm all week, which is something unusual for him.

“When I get here I was just so grateful to be here,” he added. “I played with a real sense of calm all week, which is not the norm for me, so I’m really proud of the way I played.”

Keegan Bradley delivers Presidents Cup verdict after BMW Championship win

After his win in Denver, Bradley now has a genuine chance of making the USA’s Presidents Cup team. The top six spots have been decided, with Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele the star names set to compete in Montreal.

Bradley, however, sits eighth in the standings and will no doubt be considered by Jim Furyk as he determines his six captain’s picks.

Bradley delivered his verdict on the Presidents Cup after his win in Denver and would no doubt welcome the chance to compete against Mike Weir’s International side.

The 38-year-old has always remained steadfast in his belief that he will play at Bethpage Black if he qualifies for the team. Given his current form, that seems like a genuine possibility.
