Shane Lowry faced real disappointment at the Truist Championship after three-putting his final hole of the day on Sunday.
And now Lowry might well need to use his good friend Rory McIlroy as a shoulder to cry on.
After his final round at the Truist Championship on Sunday, McIlroy said he has noticed a huge change in Lowry, since the 2019 Open Champion moved to Florida.
Lowry advised McIlroy to enjoy his win at The Masters, rather than obsessing about backing it up.
And now the five-time major champion may well have to return the favour with some advice for his old chum.

The Irishman threw away any chance he had of winning the Truist Championship by three-putting the final hole during his final round on Sunday.
Shane Lowry told what he needs to do with Rory McIlroy after he fails to win the Truist Championship
Lowry will be feeling as low as can be now.
But he should be able to bounce back quickly, with the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow set to begin on Thursday.
And during Sky Sports’ broadcast of the Truist Championship, Simon Holmes – a well-renowned English golf coach – explained what he thinks Lowry needs to do now after he failed to get the job done at Philadelphia Cricket Club on Sunday.
Holmes said, “He needs probably to hang out with Rory for a bit and digest it. But Shane made some unforgivable mistakes. He is a very tough guy on himself which means he will bounce back quickly but he will be super upset with himself, to become such a foregone conclusion by whacking it through that break on 18 and three-putting.

“The putting needs a stroke a day better. There are a few opportunities there that he is missing and the top 15 guys that he is chasing aren’t missing those opportunities as often as he is missing them. That is the place he has to improve.“
The big winner from the Truist Championship, aside from Sepp Straka
It was a great win for Straka at Philadelphia Cricket Club on Sunday.
However, the biggest winner of the Truist Championship was Scottie Scheffler.
Scheffler may not have played in Philadelphia this week, but he should be in better shape than his main rivals for the PGA Championship next week, after preparing amongst the relative tranquility of his home course.
As wind and rain battered Philly Cricket Club, the likes of Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas may have developed kinks to their swings without even realising it.
It’s common knowledge amongst golfers that adverse weather does little to help the mechanics of the swing.
And as a result, Scheffler has to be the firm favourite to go to Quail Hollow and win what would be his third major championship.
