Keegan Bradley’s selection as US Ryder Cup captain is one of the big stories of 2024 and Sergio Garcia has now had his say on the matter.
Bradley was given the job after missing out as a player in 2023 after Zach Johnson opted not to select him.
At the time, Bradley’s omission caught attention as it was shown on the Full Swing show on Netflix.
But with Tiger Woods not taking up the role for 2025, Bradley has been given the chance to lead from the front and could even end up being a playing captain.
At the time, the likes of Justin Thomas admitted their surprise at Bradley being picked but since then, he’s had plenty of support.
And now, European legend Sergio Garcia has become the latest to throw his opinion in.

Sergio Garcia reacts to Keegan Bradley being Ryder Cup captain
Speaking in an interview with Golf Magic, the Spaniard was asked what his reaction to Bradley’s captaincy was.
And while a touch surprised, Garcia believes the American will do just fine.
“Yeah, it was a surprise, but he’s played in a few Ryder Cups and a few Presidents Cups so he’s got good experience there,” Garcia said.
“I’m sure he’s going to do the best job he can, and I hope he does a great job and finishes second!”
Garcia will want to follow Bradley
There has been talk of Sergio Garcia rejoining the DP World Tour as he makes an attempt to qualify for Luke Donald’s team.
Ultimately, down the line, Garcia will want to captain Team Europe and follow in the footsteps of Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal.
Of course, Garcia will still believe he is more than good enough to compete right now and will be looking to play again.
But there’s no doubt he can be captain material as well and once the LIV and PGA situation is all sorted, you’d imagine Garcia will get his chance eventually.
