Scottie Scheffler is in pole position to win the FedExCup title as he leads the Tour Championship with one round remaining.
Having started the Tour Championship in first place on 10 under, Scheffler has risen to 26 under after rounds of 65, 66 and 66.
Xander Schauffele has praised Scheffler’s ball-striking, with the latter having mastered the challenges at East Lake thus far.
The world number one is now just one top round away from ending his stunning season on a high, with Collin Morikawa his nearest competitor at the Tour Championship.
Morikawa has praised Scheffler’s driving, with the former five shots behind the leader ahead of the final round.

Scottie Scheffler admits ‘unusual’ swing issue at the Tour Championship
Scheffler should be very happy with his efforts at East Lake so far, although it wasn’t a perfect third round for the American.
It was posed in his latest Tour Championship press conference that a couple of balls went left as he was finishing his backswing.

The question was then asked if there was anything fighting his swing, specifically on the front nine, having had some awkward finishes.
Scheffler responded: “Yeah, it’s pretty unusual for me to finish awkwardly. Probably going to have to go take a look at that.”
Can Scottie Scheffler hold off Collin Morikawa at the Tour Championship?
Scheffler has barely put a foot wrong at the Tour Championship so far, and indeed in 2024, having won six titles.
A certain PGA Tour Player of the Year contender, the American will now be desperate to finish on a high in the FedExCup.
But he may just need to address the aforementioned issue with his swing, particularly with Morikawa breathing down his neck.
Almost every aspect of Scheffler’s game has been perfected, but Morikawa will be full of confidence after his rise up the standings.
There is undoubtedly still time for final round drama at East Lake, where Scheffler and Morikawa are heading out as the final pairing.
