Scottie Scheffler is by no means out of things at the Tour Championship despite what appeared to be a frustrating second round for him.
Scheffler is well known around the world for his calm nature and being able to keep his cool as others battle with their own demons.
It’s what’s helped Scheffler become so dominant. His ability to stay in his own space, keep his own mind focused and simply play the next shot, has seen him rise to world number one and solidify his place as the world’s best golfer.
However, just like any other golfer at any level, Scheffler is also human and every so often, tempers can flare.
Indeed, on day two, Scheffler was spotted losing his cool more than once.

Scottie Scheffler praised despite some poor behaviour on day two of the Tour Championship
Golfers always lose their cool at times and it’s simply part of the sport.
However, seeing Scheffler fall foul to it and fall foul more than once is very unusual and we saw a number of occasions where Scheffler lost it in round two.
Still, despite looking a touch more aggressive than usual, Scheffler was actually praised.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage in the UK, analyst Henni Zuel picked up on the world number one’s antics.
“We are seeing a lot of frustration from him and a lot of impatience which is as rare as some of the poor shots we are seeing,” Zuel pointed out.
Adding his own weight to the chat, Ewen Murray then pointed out why it’s so unusual to see.
“The trouble is when you are used to performing like him day in and day out and then up comes an ordinary day, which up until this point that’s what it is, he is finding that difficult to accept.”
However, as rare as Scheffler’s behaviour is, Zuel admitted she loves seeing it.
“I actually am going to say I love to see it. It’s good to see that he cares. That something gets under his skin enough, especially after his comments at The Open, which I know were meant in a way of having a great mindset and detaching yourself from golf and the result, which is commendable,” she continued.
“But as a fan of the game and as a fan of wanting the best players to have something which means something to them like Rory McIlroy winning the Masters, you could see what it meant to him. It’s good to see that it means something to Scottie Scheffler, that it does annoy him.”
Day three could see a whole new level of Scottie Scheffler
The old saying that a wounded animal is often at their most dangerous could be very fitting here when it comes to Scottie Scheffler.
Clearly a touch frustrated throughout his round, Scheffler is still in contention and just five back of joint leaders Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley.
As we saw last week, eating into someone’s lead is easy for Scheffler if he’s on his game and after the struggles he had in round two, we could see him come out all guns blazing on day three.
If he does, and he can start well, then Fleetwood will be looking over his shoulder yet again as he seeks that first PGA Tour win.
