With two Masters wins to his name, Scottie Scheffler knows all about the type of pressure shots you need to hit to win out at Augusta.
Scheffler has won two of the last three, coming out on top in 2022 and 2024 to cement his legacy as one of the best to ever do it around the famous course.
Going into 2025’s Masters next month, Scheffler is looking to win a third while world number, something which would put himself into the record books alone.
To do so, he’ll need to find his best game and hope to hit big shots while minimising the errors.
Indeed, should Scheffler win again, he might need to eclipse what he believes is his best ever shot at Augusta National.

Scottie Scheffler’s best and worst shots at Augusta
Scheffler has been speaking to the media ahead of missing this weekend’s Valspar Championship in Florida and was asked a few questions about his wins at Augusta National.
Specifically, Scheffler was asked to name his best and worst shots.
“Gosh, I have no idea,” Scheffler quipped. “What would be my best shot? My best shot. I remember in 2022, I hit some pretty amazing pitch shots, like my short game was really sharp that week.
“I guess, yeah, the pitch-in on three, I’d have to go with one of my best shot, just with the importance at that point in the tournament — sorry, the pitch-in on three Sunday of ’22, I would say, would be the most consequential shot that I hit at Augusta.
“But even on that day, like I remember the shot that made me feel the most comfortable was my 5-iron into five, which was one of the like, flushest iron shots that I’ve hit. So between those two, I’d say it would be pretty close.
“As far as my worst shot, and I’m sure I’ve rinsed a few balls there, I don’t know.”
Scheffler was then reminded of his four putt on 18 to win the 2022 event and laughed that was indeed a good example.
“Yeah, 4-putt on 18, yeah, that’s a good one,” Scheffler laughed.

Scottie Scheffler’s record on 18 at Augusta National
While Scottie Scheffler is nowhere near some of the big meltdowns we’ve seen at Augusta, he’s still come up short a few times with double bogeys threatening his progress.
However, one of the things that makes Scheffler so good is that he rarely cards anything worse.
For example, he hit just one double bogey the entire week when he won in 2024, while in 2022, the only double he made all week was his tentative four putt he mentions when winning on 18.
| Scottie Scheffler’s overall score on the 18th at Augusta | |
| 2021 | +2 |
| 2022 | +4 |
| 2023 | +1 |
| 2024 | -1 |
| Overall | +6 |
In fact, it’s pretty telling that when he didn’t win in 2023, he actually made two doubles across the week, on top of another seven bogies.
In fact, it is that 18th hole that causes Scheffler the most trouble, having made a double on there back in 2021 as well.
To make it three in four, Scheffler might well need to overcome the demons of the 18th and follow his 2024 in being at least one under.
