Scottie Scheffler is not only the best golfer in the world when it comes to the PGA Tour but he also showed his credentials further by winning Olympic Gold in Paris in 2024.
Scheffler came from nowhere like he has done so many times to win out in France and further solidify himself as the very best golfer around.
As we know, one of the key elements behind Scheffler’s success is his relationship with his caddie, Ted Scott.
Scott has been there for all of Scheffler’s big wins and it’s clear to anyone who watches golf just how good a working relationship they have.
For Scott, seeing Scheffler win and get the success he has brings him great joy and speaking on the Pardon My Take podcast, Scheffler has revealed just how Scott helped him win in Paris.

Scottie Scheffler says how Ted Scott helped him win Olympic Gold
Player and caddie relationships are some of the most key and prevalent working relationships in any sport around.
With that being said, it’s obvious just how important Scheffler and Scott’s partnership is.
Indeed, revealing some behind the scenes insight into his Paris win, Scheffler has explained just how Scott proved his worth.
“Teddy is an amazing caddie. He is a great person. He is one of those guys that when he meets somebody they feel like they are his best friend because he treats people so well. He is an amazing guy to be around. Everybody is his best friend. He is extremely likeable,” Scheffler explained.
“So having him on the bag, he works as hard as I do, if not harder. So when he gives me information out on the golf course I can really trust knowing that he is not just making stuff up. He knows exactly what slope is up there and how the ball is going to react. He just knows his stuff so I can just go out there and try and hit the shot. I feel like with both of us out there his preparation is so important to what we do. He is just a great asset to me on the golf course and he’s one of my best friends in the whole world too, he’s just an all round great guy.”
Explaining just how he helped him over the line at the Olympics, Scheffler shared an insight into just how valuable Scott was for him.
“At the Olympics last year, it was a great example of a week where I was struggling on the greens and we made the turn on Sunday. I missed another easy birdie putt on nine and all of a sudden the tournament was getting away from me,” he continued.
“I am arguably out of medal contention at this point and I look at Teddy and I’m like I don’t know what I am doing out here. He was like let me read some putts, so he started reading putts for me the whole back nine on Sunday in Paris and I basically made everything and we played great and ended up winning the gold medal.
“We got off the course when the tournament was over and I said Teddy I literally do not think I could have won this golf tournament without you on my bag. I don’t think there was a way I could have done it. That was a really cool moment for us.
“In golf Teddy is just such a huge part of what we do, but I think sometimes in golf we focus so much on what we do but Teddy is a huge part of what we do and it was really cool to be able to share that medal with him and say I literally could not have done this without you on my bag.”
How Ted Scott earns more than the average PGA Tour player
Of course, while Scheffler sees Scott as a valuable tool within his arsenal, there’s also the benefit for Scott as well that comes with working with such a serial winner.
Winning a lot on the PGA Tour brings the riches that go with it and with that, Ted Scott has earned himself a pretty penny in recent times.
In fact, in 2025 alone, Scott has earned a whopping $1.92m just by being Scheffler’s man on the bag.
That figure puts him ahead of the PGA Tour average in earnings, which is quite remarkable for a caddie.
And with some big tournaments to come like the FedEx Cup and more, Scott’s earnings potential is even bigger.
