The three-month break from the course seems to have benefitted Scottie Scheffler, as the two-time Masters champion took control of the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

After shooting five under on Thursday, Scheffler’s game caught fire during the second 18. The world number one carded a bogey-free 64 to lead Tiger Woods‘ exclusive event.

Scheffler’s new putting grip appears to be working, and the American’s form is ominous ahead of the 2025 PGA Tour season, which starts at The Sentry next month.

Although Scheffler put on a golfing clinic at Albany, he acknowledged that there are still areas of his game he wants to clean up.

Speaking during his post-round press conference, Scheffler suggested his best is yet to come.

“It’s hard to tell. I mean, I try to work hard in the offseason on my 2 body to make sure it doesn’t get too out of whack, so when I come back, my swing doesn’t change too much,” he said.

“There’s always a little bit of maintenance there that I feel I need to take care of, and I feel like I’m still taking care of a little bit of that maintenance and hopefully over the next couple weeks and going to the start of the season things will continue to clean up.”

When is Scottie Scheffler playing next?

After this week’s event in the Bahamas, Scheffler will prep for the upcoming LIV vs PGA Tour match at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. The world number one is set to team up with Rory McIlroy and face off against Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

Scheffler will then play five of the first seven PGA Tour events, starting at The Sentry in Hawaii. The 28-year-old will tee it up at The American Express, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, WM Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational at Riviera.

The two-time Masters winner will miss the Farmers Insurance at Torrey Pines as he looks to manage his schedule.

Right now, given his current form, there’s every chance of Scheffler winning the first five events he takes part in when the new season begins.
