Scottie Scheffler won again on the PGA Tour and for the first time in California as he landed the Procore Championship.

A final round of 67 was enough for Scheffler to get the job done, with Ben Griffin the man to look on in despair at Scheffler’s brilliance.

Of course, it was put to Scheffler at the start of the week that he’d never actually won in California and it seems he used that as fuel to tick another milestone off.

For Scheffler, the win was all about tuning up for the Ryder Cup in two weeks and with that in mind, he was asked about the crowds in Napa and if they’ve helped him prepare for Bethpage.

Scottie Scheffler says how good the crowd was at the Procore Championship

Speaking to the media afterwards, Scheffler was asked for his thoughts on the crowds in Napa and the world number one, as usual, was humble with his words.

“Like you said, the crowds were great. We felt so much support from them,” Scheffler admitted.

“There was a lot of noise out there. Our groups were all kind of one part of the golf course out there Thursday and Friday and there was a ton of people out there. It was really fun to be able to play in front of the crowd.

“We heard lots of USA chants and lots of good luck wishes for the Ryder Cup. Yeah, as far as Napa goes, I didn’t really do too much of the winery scene, but it’s a beautiful part of the country. California’s amazing. Every time I come here I love it so much. We had a great week here at the course as well. Yeah, overall it was very fun.”

Scottie Scheffler’s remarkable top eight run as he wins the Procore Championship

As well as making it six wins on the TOUR for two successive seasons and joining an elite three-man club in doing so, Scheffler is also continuing to amaze with his run of form.

It’s now six months since Scheffler even finished outside the top eight in a PGA Tour event and even then, he still finished 20th.

It’s now 15 tournaments in a row for Scheffler finishing inside the top eight. A truly remarkable achievement and once again, proof we are witnessing something special.
