Scottie Scheffler posted a round of four-under-par 68 on day three of the American Express on Saturday.
Scheffler played the hardest course on the rotation at the American Express – the Pete Dye Stadium Course.
The world number one has cruised along in second gear in La Quinta, California, this week.
Scheffler has scored incredibly well at the American Express, despite not driving the golf ball as well as he would have liked during the first two days.

The 29-year-old will undoubtedly work hard on all facets of his game before the final round of the American Express on Sunday.
You would have to be a brave man to bet against Scheffler getting the job done in the final round in the desert.
Scheffler will be going up against teenage sensation Blades Brown and his close friend Si Woo Kim, as well as a whole host of big names in the chasing pack including the likes of Wyndham Clark.

The 19-time PGA Tour winner was nowhere near his best at the American Express on Saturday.
However, the Stadium Course was playing extremely tricky and 68 was not a bad score at all from the American.
He will most likely need to shoot lower than that on Sunday, though, if he is to become the first player since Tiger Woods to win 20 PGA Tour events before turning 30.
The 29-year-old spoke to reporters after his third round, and he was asked about the way in which he played the 16th hole on the Stadium Course on Saturday.
He said: “I hit a high drive that was able to get some wind behind it. And I hit a really good, I mean, probably the best shot of the day, that 5-iron there pin high.
“Really challenging second shot to give myself a really good look for eagle. It was a really nice shot.“
Scheffler was then asked to explain exactly what made that specific shot so special.
“Well, I mean, if you just barely go over the green, you’re in a really tough spot to get up and down,“ the world number one said.
“If you miss it barely left, like my ball landed on line with the pin, and you’re still in danger of missing the green left.
“Then the green is really firm, and you got wind down off the right, and the front right part of the green actually slopes away. So you only got a few yards there where you can land a 5-iron from 220 yards. Is that enough reasons? (Laughing).“
Scheffler’s 5-iron second shot into the par-5 probably didn’t get the credit it deserved at the time.
However, he explained perfectly just how fraught with danger the shot was. Incredible execution once again from the best golfer in the world.

Scheffler put in a solid, if not spectacular, performance in La Quinta, California, on Saturday afternoon.

The current world number one was ranked first in strokes gained off the tee on day three and an uncharacteristic 23rd in strokes gained approach.
He was ranked 10th in putting, 26th around the green and 10th strokes gained total.
If Scheffler manages to tidy up his iron play on Sunday and holes his fair share of putts, there’s a good chance that he will rack up that magical 20th PGA Tour victory.
It will be fascinating to watch Scottie Scheffler go up against Blades Brown and Si Woo Kim during the final round of the American Express.
Will he produce the goods yet again? It would be foolhardy to think that he won’t.
