Rory McIlroy has a new plan for final day at The Masters ahead of Bryson DeChambeau showdown

The eyes of the golfing world will be fixed firmly on Augusta National on Sunday.

It’s a face off between the poster boys of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.

Despite Rory’s two-shot lead, it will still be a case of who blinks first.

And the Northern Irishman seemingly has a cunning plan up his sleeve.

Rory lifted the lid on what he plans to change about his game heading into the final day, when speaking to Sky Sports:

I think my iron play and approach play was really solid today. I drove the ball well with the driver. I hit a couple of squirly three woods. But if I can keep the ball striking the way it was. I feel like I left myself above the hole a lot, so I couldn’t be aggressive with some putts. So maybe just be a bit more aware of that, and try and leave myself below the hole a bit more tomorrow but overall a great day.

McIlroy then explained why he will be embracing the pressure on Sunday, rather than approaching it with trepidation:

I think I am not going to shy away from it. These situations like the ones tomorrow are the ones I get up and work hard and practice and try to do all the right things. So if I didn’t want this moment I wouldn’t be doing those things, so this is what I want to do and the pairings I want to be in. I am excited about that.
