‘A ridiculous athlete’…Rick Shiels blown away by 30-year-old LIV player after seeing him in person

Rick Shiels has offered up his verdict on what LIV Golf star Bryson Dechambeau is really like after spending time with him recently.

Popular YouTube star Shiels has recently been over in the USA spending time filming with Dechambeau.

Of course, Dechambeau himself is a big fan of YouTube, having his own channel and content.

On the golf course, as we all know, Dechambeau is renowned for being one of the biggest hitters in the game and he displayed that while filming with Shiels.

But off the course, the American has often been looked at as a bit of an outcast. His scientific approach to the game and outspoken nature has seen opinion divided at times.

However, speaking about Dechambeau on his latest podcast, Rick Shiels has said that it’s obvious why the American has been so successful.

Speaking on The Rick Shiels Golf Show, Shiels answered a question from a fan who wanted to know what Bryson was like in real life.

And Shiels was nothing but complimentary about the 30-year-old.

“It was just him. He is such an interesting but also quite complex character. He is full on. Determined. Passionate. Energetic. A ridiculous athlete, ridiculous. Up close how he hits his driver so far and how long and straight he hits it is ridiculous. The perception of him being complex and then spending time with him, I think whatever he would have done in life he’d have left no stone unturned,” Shiels said.

Shiels played a number of interesting formats of Golf while filming with Dechambeau over in the US.

The LIV star revealed during their chats that he was actually a terrible putter for a long time as well, which may explain why he adopted such a scientific approach previously.

Dechambeau is currently part of the Crushers GC over in LIV. His current teammates are Paul Casey, Charles Howell III and Indian star, Anirban Lahiri.
