Rick Shiels suggests which golfer has more ability out of Grant Horvat and Wesley Bryan

YouTube golf has exploded in recent years and none in the space are more qualified to discuss the creators than Rick Shiels.

Englishman Shiels is widely regarded as one of the Godfathers of the YouTube scene for golf and he’s more than a decade into his journey on the platform.

Shiels recently signed a life changing deal with LIV Golf to produce content for them and he’s had some huge videos with the likes of Jon Rahm and more since.

However, when it comes to those who play YouTube golf for a living, Shiels is well versed in being able to judge just who is the best golfer of the lot.

And according to Shiels, one man stands at the top.

Rick Shiels picks who’s the best golfer out of Grant Horvat and Wesley Bryan

American duo Grant Horvat and Wesley Bryan are two of the biggest names in YouTube but both have also enjoyed crossovers into the actual world of pro golf.

As we know, Bryan is a PGA Tour winner and has made quite the career out of the game, while Horvat recently won the Creator Classic and has had big link ups with the likes of Phil Mickelson and more.

However, when it comes to who is the better golfer overall, Shiels went with the PGA Tour player at the top of his list.

Asked by Golf Monthly to blind rank his top five from the names presented, Shiels opted with Bryan at the top spot ahead of Horvat in second.

In third was his good friend Pete Finch, while Bobby Fairways was the worst ranked down in fifth.

Thankfully for Shiels himself, he was out last in the task and managed to secure himself a fourth place spot.

Wesley Bryan’s PGA Tour record

Wesley Bryan has had more than enough success to fully warrant being number one on Shiels’ list here.

Over his career, Bryan has played in more than 130 PGA Tour events, winning once, coming runner up once, and finishing in the top five, five times.

Bryan has also had nine top ten finishes, and earned north of $5m in earnings from PGA Tour winnings alone.

Now in the YouTube game as well as the professional golf game, Wesley Bryan and his brother George are pretty much set for life.

Indeed, Bryan is still part of the TOUR right now and has played three events in 2025, failing to make the cut twice but sealing a more than respectable tie for 25th at the Farmers back in January.
