Scottie Scheffler is the top man in golf right now and Rick Shiels has delivered his honest verdict on the world number one.
Scheffler cruised to another win this weekend at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town as he continued his dominant start to 2024.
The world number one is flying and seems to be playing a level of golf above everyone else on any other tour in the world.
For Scheffler, four wins from his last five have sent him into the stratosphere in terms of golf.
Of course, there’s an argument from some that having one player dominate is bad for the golfing world.
And popular YouTuber Rick Shiels has been discussing that opinion, after claiming some people had suggested he wouldn’t be happy with Scheffler winning every week.

Rick Shiels discusses Scottie Scheffler after his win at the RBC Heritage
Speaking on the latest episode of his Rick Shiels Golf Show, Shiels addressed Scheffler’s dominance.
And shooting down the idea he’s not happy one person is being so dominant, Shiels admitted he loves seeing Scheffler do the business.
“I think there’s no question marks around his game. I’ve picked up on this point as well because I saw a few comments saying I’d not be happy [Scheffler winning the RBC Heritage]. No, I bloody loved the fact he won. This is unbelievable.
“I feel like there’s so much, this is once in a generation, to win five of his last six starts, including Arnold Palmer, The Players, The Masters, and then the RBC. I mean, what he hell? He’s cruising to these victories as well. His worst rounds have been level par, and he’s had two of them. Every other round has been below par. I mean what the hell?,” Shiels said.
Scottie Scheffler could have a historical 2024
Dame Laura Davies called it a few months back, but there is a chance that Scottie Scheffler wins the lot in one year right now.
Scheffler’s level of play is so far above everyone else on tour right now that it’s hard to see him not winning a tournament.
Yes, everyone on tour is a brilliant golfer and one any given weekend, they can come up trumps and win.
But there is a chance Scheffler does it and wins all four majors this year. And if he manages that, then there’ll be serious talk over if he’s one of the best to ever do it.
