There’s absolutely no doubt that Bryson DeChambeau is one of golf’s biggest draws at the moment and fellow LIV Golf player Richard Bland has been speaking about just what it’s like to share the course with him.
DeChambeau’s big hitting and ability to interact with the crowd means he is very much box office.
Alongside the likes of Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and now Scottie Scheffler, DeChambeau is very much in the upper-echelons of media and fan interest.
However, in terms of playing actual golf with him in a competitive round, that’s something only the best get to experience.
Luckily for us fans, though, LIV Golf player and former European Tour winner, Richard Bland, has offered some insight into how it is to be out there with Bryson.

Richard Bland gives verdict on playing golf with Bryson DeChambeau
With the PGA Championship being condensed on the Saturday into split tees and groups of three, Richard Bland was put in alongside his fellow LIV player, alongside Taylor Pendrith.
In the end, DeChambeau showed his class and got into a position to contend before falling away.
However, Bland has admitted the experience of playing with Bryson DeChambeau is always something to value.
“Yeah, whenever you play with Bryson — I played with him last round in Korea where he won, so I was — yeah, I was tied second with 10 holes to play and just kind of — I guess that kind of showed you where my game was lacking a little in the last LIV event”, Bland said ahead of this weekend’s Senior PGA Championship.
“So under the highest pressure if you’re not quite where you want to be, it’s going to find you out, and it did. But that’s fine. You learn from that. I felt like I improved on that last week, so yeah, it’s always exciting to play with Bryson.
“The energy that he just brings, the buzz of the crowd, yeah, it’s always — he’s just a good guy to play golf with. I get on with him on and off the golf course, and I always enjoy playing with him. It’s nice to see a golf ball hit like that.”
Bland is heading back to the Senior PGA this weekend as he looks to retain the title he won so well in 2024.

Bland can extend his career by playing alongside players like DeChambeau
Richard Bland is 52 now and the fact he is still competing in certain events is a testament to how he’s kept himself in shape.
Indeed, playing with players like DeChambeau can only be a good thing for the Englishman. As he says, the energy, vibe, and sheer talent DeChambeau brings to the table can only be infectious.
For Bland, his career now is about earning what he can and if he can, adding a win or two to add to the CV for when he’s finished.
And if that means feeding off the positivity of a player like DeChambeau, then so be it.
