Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau are ready to tee it up and go head to head at Augusta National as they battle it out to win the green jacket.

McIlroy holds a two shot lead over DeChambeau ahead of tee off and is a further two ahead of the next nearest challenger, Corey Conners.

Indeed, Conners was impressed by McIlroy after playing with him yesterday and going into round four, McIlroy will need all the quality again.

Of course, with both players popular among the patrons, it makes for a fascinating watch in the final round.

However, former PGA Championship winner Rich Beem believes there is a big difference between the two giants of the game.

Why Rory McIlroy is so different to Bryson DeChambeau

Beem was speaking on Sky Sports last night after watching McIlroy and DeChambeau finish their rounds.

Both players got adulation from the crowd but while McIlroy appeared calm and collected, DeChambeau did his best to involved and work the patrons up.

And according to Beem, that is the stark difference between the pair and makes for an interesting dynamic ahead of the final round.

“Getting off to a great start, probably an unbelievable start that he didn’t even think he could manufacture. But going out there and trying to calm himself down. Bryson is getting the crowds behind him. He is trying to amp everybody up. And Rory is trying to subdue himself a little bit,” Beem said.

“I think what we saw out there was Bryson trying to get the crowd behind him. Rory was just doing Rory things and the crowd was cheering him on anyway. I think it is going to be a very interesting dynamic tomorrow between those two in the final pairings. It could be fireworks.”

Bryson DeChambeau admits to purposely getting Masters patrons involved in his round

With plenty of Americans in attendance at Augusta National, there’ll be many a Bryson fan in the mix.

Still, Rory McIlroy will also have plenty of support and for DeChambeau, getting the fans onside might be key to him overcoming his counterpart.

Interestingly, DeChambeau admitted after round three that he does indeed get fans involved.

“Just getting the Patrons going. Having a bit of fun with them. Makes me focus more. I don’t know. It’s a fun thing that whenever I feel like I feed into the crowd, especially the Patrons here, it just — they give that energy back, and it’s a cool feeling. So I used that a couple times today,” he admitted.

Quite whether he can get that same energy up against McIlroy, remains to be seen.
