‘Quite amazing’…Vincent Norrman shares what’s so impressive about Ludvig Aberg right now

Swedish golfer Ludvig Aberg is one of the hottest names in golf heading into 2024 after his remarkable rise in 2023.

Aberg was one of Luke Donald’s captain’s picks as Europe, led by Rory McIlroy in Rome, hammered the USA team to take the Ryder Cup.

During the tournament, he brought home a very useful two points on his debut to cap a fine year in which he’d won The European Masters on the DP World Tour, before snatching the RSM Classic in November for a first PGA Tour win.

24-year-old Aberg is now hoping to take this year by storm. And living alongside fellow Swedish star Vincent Norrman, he has high hopes.

Of course, Norrman himself will be hoping he can hang on the coattails of his friend. And the 26-year-old has spoken of his admiration for Aberg.

Speaking on the Talk of the Tour podcast about each other, the Swedish duo were very complimentary towards on another.

Norrman, though, admitted that it is Aberg’s calmness and ability to mix both on and off-course matters that impresses him so much.

“I’ll says the calmness of him. I think the work, social life balance is quite amazing. He loves his Liverpool and whenever they play they’re on the TV whenever I get out of my room. Then he turns to get on the golf course and does his practice and he’s the nicest guy outside the course and I can beat him at tennis. Then on the golf course, he’s a very calm guy and doesn’t look like he’s stressed at all,” Norrman said.

Aberg is already off to an impressive start this year. After one round, he is four under in season opening Sentry tournament over in Hawaii. Despite that impressive start, he’s still five behind early pace-setter Sahith Theegala, who stormed to an impressive nine-under in his opening round.

PGA star name Rory McIlroy is not taking part in the tournament, however. The Northern Irishman is taking some downtime and has been doing the rounds in the media, including an interview with The Overlap where he spoke about Tiger Woods, Shane Lowry, and all things LIV Golf.
