LIV Golf makes its return to the golfing calendar in February 2025, with LIV Golf Riyadh making its debut.
The early LIV Golf schedule collides with the PGA Tour, with the former now preparing for its third season.
Greg Norman says LIV Golf has fallen short regarding a television deal, with the PIF-backed tour now aiming to get bigger and better in 2025.
Jon Rahm emerged victorious from the latest individual season, with Cam Smith guiding Ripper GC to the team title.
Plenty of changes are likely to take place between now and the start of the new campaign, with talks ongoing between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour.

PIF announcement could heavily impact LIV Golf’s future
It remains to be seen what the outcome, if any, will be from those discussions, but closer to home an announcement has just been made that could heavily impact the future of the Norman-led venture.
As reported by the Financial Times, governor Yasir Al Rumayyan says PIF will cut international investment from 30% to 18-20% as it shifts its focus to domestic projects.

Sporting Life editor Ben Coley was among those reacting to the news, writing on X: “PIF significantly scaling back its overseas investments hopefully makes it much less likely we’ll see another half a billion or so thrown at a golfer. Remains absolutely bonkers that half a million was indeed thrown at a single golfer.”
Will LIV Golf and the PGA Tour agree on a merger?
LIV Golf has done a superb job since its inception in persuading a long list of PGA Tour stars to drop tradition for the new venture.
The likes of Rahm, Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka and Sergio Garcia are among the huge scalps from the Saudi-backed tour.

But attracting such star names could become an issue in the very near future after the latest decision from PIF.
LIV Golf undoubtedly has major plans to grow in 2025, regardless of what happens with the potential PGA Tour merger.
The breakaway tour will be eyeing a massive opening event in Riyadh in February, with an agreement potentially reached with the PGA Tour before it gets underway.
