Phil Mickelson took to social media on Saturday afternoon in reaction to Keegan Bradley’s pairing selections for the four-ball matches at Bethpage Black.
Mickelson is a notoriously divisive figure in the world of professional golf today, so anything he says about the Ryder Cup gets the attention of fans worldwide.
Bradley has made some awful decisions this week at Bethpage Black, but did Mickelson think his good friend made the right calls?
Who could forget when, back in March, Mickelson bizarrely predicted that Scheffler would not win a tournament until the Ryder Cup.
The 55-year-old LIV Golf star is certainly not shy in voicing his opinions.
Mickelson praised Bradley for leaving himself off the Ryder Cup team back in August, and now he has taken to his X account in reaction to the US captain’s selections for the Saturday afternoon four-ball matches.
Phil Mickelson reacts to Keegan Bradley’s four-ball selections on day two of the Ryder Cup
Mickelson has made more appearances than anyone else at the Ryder Cup in the history of the competition, with 12 in total.

However, he was hardly ever at his brilliant best at the Ryder Cup, with an overall record of 18 wins, 22 defeats and seven halves.
That said, he did enjoy one incredibly successful Ryder Cup back in 2012, when he won three and lost one of the four matches he played.
His partner that week? None other than Bradley himself.
Mickelson took to his official X account and offered his opinion on the decisions made by his former Ryder Cup partner for the afternoon four-ball matches at Bethpage Black on Saturday.
He said: “I know Team USA is down 5 points but Captain Keegan nailed the afternoon pairings and they are going to make a strong run! USA.“
Whatever Mickelson says about the Saturday afternoon four-ball selections, it’s impossible for Bradley to make up for some of the atrocious calls he made during the first three sessions.
What Phil Mickelson has said about being named Ryder Cup captain
Mickelson would almost certainly have been the Ryder Cup captain at Bethpage, had he not jumped ship from the PGA Tour in 2022 to join LIV.
Back in 2024, the six-time major champion spoke about potentially being named as the US Ryder Cup captain at some point in the future.
He said: “I don’t feel I’m the right guy to be involved with the team because I’m a very divisive character right now, if you will, and I understand that.
“The players on the PGA Tour, there’s a lot of hostilities towards me, and I don’t feel I’d be the best leader for them.
“I knew I was going to take some hits going forward. I’m OK with that. And as a divisive individual. I don’t think I’m the best unifier going forward for the Ryder Cup, and that’s fine because I’ve had so many great memories with it.“
His chances of being a Ryder Cup captain are surely over now. As Mickelson admitted himself, he is a divisive figure in the game, and that’s a real shame given the joy he has brought to the fans throughout his career.
