PGA Tour winner claims the course at The Memorial is ‘just not fun’ and admits he wasn’t sure he was going to break 85

Muirfield Village has already claimed its fair share of victims during the first few rounds of the Memorial Tournament.

The Memorial Tournament is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour, and it is certainly one of the most challenging tests on the rota.

Jordan Spieth spoke after round two about how difficult Muirfield Village is playing, and numerous big names have really struggled this week.

Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, Viktor Hovland and Hideki Matsuyama are all well over par.

If you’re not on your game, there is absolutely no chance of contending at the Memorial Tournament. It’s as simple as that.

And one player in particular left the 18th green at Muirfield Village with his tail between his legs on Saturday.

Michael Kim claims the course at The Memorial is ‘just not fun’

One-time PGA Tour winner Michael Kim ensured a really tough start to his third round at Muirfield Village on Saturday.

The 31-year-old made the cut on the number after rounds of 78 and 71.

And he ended up shooting a two-over-par round of 74 on day three at the Memorial.

However, things looked really bleak for him early on, after he played his first four holes in four-over-par.

And Kim took to social media after his round to highlight just how difficult the course is playing at Jack’s Place.

The wind was wreaking havoc with the early starters, and it has kicked up even more so since the leaders teed off.

Considering how hard the wind is blowing, and the thickness of the rough, it would be a big shock if Scheffler’s score of eight-under-par in 2024 was beaten this year.

And it would surprise nobody if Scheffler is the last man standing come 7pm on Sunday evening either.
