Rickie Fowler is in action once again as the FedEx Cup fall stretch of the PGA Tour continues at the Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin.

Fowler returned to the course at the Sanderson Farms Championship after taking a three-month break after finishing 71st at The Open.

The American placed T16 at the Sanderson Farms and appeared to be trending to somewhere near his best form. Fowler is looking to cement his spot inside the FedEx Cup 125 this week, and the American has also shared an update on his plans for the remainder of 2024.

Speaking during his press conference on Wednesday, Fowler confirmed he would be heading to Japan for the ZOZO Championship before competing in the Grant Thornton at the start of December.

Fowler was asked, “Is that all you’ve got scheduled for the remainder of the season, this week, and Japan?”

“Yeah, as of right now,” the American replied. “This week, next week, play the Grant Thornton. A little fun way to finish off the year.”

Rickie Fowler on course to maintain top 125 spot in the FedEx Cup rankings

Fowler currently sits 111th in the FedEx Cup rankings and is on course to gain eligibility into full-field events and the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

The American is projected to jump six spots to 105th, which would see him 20 places inside the dotted line. A top-ten finish this week would almost certainly secure Fowler’s fate ahead of the 2025 PGA Tour season.

The 35-year-old will be desperate to improve when the new campaign rolls around. Fowler failed to compete in 2024 with a top-30 finish at The Masters the highlight of his major championship season.

When 2024 eventually comes to a close, Fowler must aim to regain the form that saw him lead the 2023 US Open.
