The PGA Tour has been told an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund may never be reached as talks between the two parties continue.
There have been several false dawns in recent times. Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods engaged in talks before the US Open, and Jay Monahan has shed light on a potential deadline.
Now, former coach Peter Kostis has had his say, and the 77-year-old has shared a concerning view on what might happen in the coming months.
Peter Kostis: No LIV Golf-PGA Tour agreement on the cards
Speaking on the Kostis and McCord Podcast, Kostis claimed there’s a genuine chance the two tours never reach an agreement.
“It’s utter chaos right now. We’ve got to figure this out soon,” Kostis explained. “I think Rory was spot on when he said that you have to get a resolution to this sooner rather than later.
“I think it will never happen right now. I think we are headed towards two leagues. We are headed to a league that is primarily internationally focussed and, obviously, the PGA Tour, which is domestically focused.”
He added: “Maybe they’ll get to play majors and a couple of other events, but I don’t see this coming to a resolution any time soon.”

The current divide within the professional game has caused far more damage than good. Therefore, the prospect of the loggerhead continuing is challenging to accept.
The game’s elite players must compete against each other in the most significant events and on the best courses.
McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler’s upcoming match against Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka indicates how the players feel about the scenario.
Even McIlroy, one of LIV’s biggest cynics, is actively trying to persuade decision-makers to take action.
