PGA Championship predictions

The Golfing Gazette experts have made their picks for the PGA Championship this week.

Charlie Walker: Scottie Scheffler has done everything but win since The Masters. Three runner-up finishes show that he’s in absolute top form as we get into the teeth of the major season, and he finished second at Augusta without his A-game. I expect him to respond to McIlroy’s Masters win by adding another major of his own at Aronimink.

James Shearman: Scottie Scheffler is the man to beat at the PGA Championship this week. The world number one is in excellent form, finishing second in his last three starts, and should suit the golf course at Aronimink. I could even see him winning by a wide margin if he gets off to a strong start.

Peter Lynch: We could be in for an exciting battle between Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, which I think the American will win to successfully defend his title. He’s heading for huge success soon, and it may just be this week!

Jordan Harris: Heart is ruling the head on this one, and Rory McIlroy is going to follow his Masters victory with a seventh major. Once again, it seems inevitable that one of the best two players in the world will come out on top.

Antony Martin: This is Ludvig Aberg’s time. His exceptional driving means Aronimink will suit him to a tee. He’s had trouble closing out tournaments this season, but I think he’ll get over the line this week at the PGA.
