Patrick Reed and Bryson DeChambeau have both performed admirably on LIV Golf this season.
In fairness to Reed and the long-hitting DeChambeau, they are the only two LIV golfers who have actually shown up at the majors as well, and that has led to calls for them both to be selected for the Ryder Cup team.
The two Americans have a win each to their names on LIV Golf, and four top-10s between them in the majors.
Both DeChambeau and Reed have been tipped to play on the Ryder Cup team at different stages over the past six months.

However, DeChambeau’s situation is very different to Reed’s, due to the fact that he is actually sitting inside the top six on the US points list right now.
In fact, captain Keegan Bradley has already confirmed that DeChambeau will be part of the US Ryder Cup team in September.
Patrick Reed says if Bryson DeChambeau should be on the US Ryder Cup team
Reed’s name keeps cropping up whenever talk about the Ryder Cup starts.
Eamon Lynch recently warned Bradley that selecting Reed for the Ryder Cup team would be a disastrous move.
On the flip side, DeChambeau is someone who the vast majority of fans and players desperately want on the team.

And Reed himself responded when asked whether he believes DeChambeau should be part of team USA in September.
The LIV golfer said: “He will bring all he has. He will be out there grinding and you know there is no quit in Bryson, so that is something you always look for.
“At the same time he can make that golf course pretty short, so whether it’s best ball or alternate shot, there is a lot of strengths and advantages for him being on the team.
“Hopefully we can do our job of going out to be in position to be picked and he will bring both of us out there to help the US keep the cup.“
DeChambeau will definitely be at Bethpage, while Reed’s chances of being on the team are slim to say the least.
Patrick Reed on whether he should be on the Ryder Cup team himself
Reed has a really impressive record at the Ryder Cup.
The 34-year-old is known as Captain America for a reason, and his career record at the Ryder Cup of seven wins, three defeats and two halves shows how much he loves team competition.
Reed responded when asked whether he believes he is deserving of a place on the team.
He said: “You never know. I have talked to him a little bit. I just know that the easiest way for me to get on that team is to get out there and continue playing some good golf.
“If I can continue to have opportunities late on Sunday to win golf tournaments that will continue to give me an opportunity to get on the team.
“But really it’s up to me to go out and play solid golf and hope to get a captain’s pick.“
Then Reed responded when asked whether he could bring something extra to the team at Bethpage.
He said: “For sure. Being a guy who has actually won there at Bethpage and also at the same time knowing how intense the crowds can be, for both sides. They love winners, they love to get behind guys that are winning golf tournaments and guys that are leading, so you have to have a certain type of personality and mental strength to go out there and compete. I feel like what I have done in Ryder Cups and my record in there has been really solid.
“Because of that I feel like I bring a lot of extra energy and also passion that they like to see out there in Bethpage.“
