Legion XIII made a real statement in their first ever LIV Golf event last year as they lifted the team title at Mayakoba – and it proved to be a similar story 12 months later in Riyadh.
Adrian Meronk secured his first ever win on LIV Golf as the Pole won by two shots in Riyadh after a tense final round in which he opened the door for the likes of Sebastian Munoz and Jon Rahm.
However, the main headline coming from the event was the performance of Rahm’s Legion XIII team who strolled to the team title in Saudi Arabia.
They were seven shots ahead of any other team after the first round, and that gap just got wider after day two, with all four of their players in contention for the individual title with 18 holes to play.
Pat Perez makes prediction about Legion XIII after emphatic victory at LIV Golf Riyadh
Saturday was not quite as impressive for Legion XIII. However, they were still able to get to 50 under par for the tournament, to win by 11 shots from Ripper GC and RangeGoats GC.
Legion arguably made the biggest player signing over the winter, with Tom McKibbin turning down a PGA Tour card to join Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Caleb Surratt. And they managed to send out a real message to the rest of the league with their performance in Riyadh.

Speaking on the post round show, Pat Perez suggested that he cannot see how anyone will be able to catch Legion over the course of the season.
“I’m just tired of talking about them, because it’s the same every day, you’ve got to come up with new stuff. I want them to play bad so we can actually talk about it,” he said.
“I’ve said they’re my team for the year. I don’t think it’s even going to be close. I think it’s going to be over with a few weeks to go even.”
How Legion XIII performed during the 2024 LIV Golf season
Of course, Legion probably feel that they have a bit of a point to prove in 2025. They went on to finish the season in second place behind Bryson DeChambeau‘s Crushers. However, they fell to fourth in the Team Championship, with Rahm missing out in Dallas through illness.
The Crushers finishing seventh meanwhile shows that form throughout the season counts for little when the Team Championship comes around.
But that is unlikely to cross Rahm’s mind this year as he looks for Legion to crush the spirit of all of the teams looking to stop them.
