Min Woo Lee finished runner-up to Collin Morikawa at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Sunday.
It’s fair to say that Min Woo Lee‘s driver is his most potent weapon and he yielded it to great effect during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week.
However, the 27-year-old didn’t have his trusty old driver in the bag at Pebble Beach this week.
Do you think Collin Morikawa will win a major in 2026?
He was back to his old self at Pebble Beach…
Min Woo Lee has tightened up his swing over the past six months and he has now firmly established himself as one of the world’s best players.
While Collin Morikawa won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Min Woo will have left the golf course on Sunday in fine spirits.
And he might just owe Chris Gotterup a drink or two after his T-2 finish at Pebble Beach.
Min Woo Lee reveals why he changed drivers after watching Chris Gotterup
Gotterup has taken the professional game by storm over the past seven months.
He has three PGA Tour wins to his name since July, and his exceptional driving has been the key to his incredible success.
Gotterup played with Min Woo Lee last week at the WM Phoenix Open, and the American helped out the Australian without even realizing it!
Min Woo Lee spoke to reporters after his final round 65 at Pebble Beach on Sunday, and responded when asked about the new driver in his bag this week.
“Yeah, new driver,” Min Woo stated.

“It was a new Quantum so I needed — not needed, but I wanted to get into the new Callaway driver. I’ve heard a lot of great things about it.
“Did a couple range sessions very quickly but didn’t make the cut just because I drive it pretty good normally with the previous driver. I thought it was a good time after last week at Waste.
“Didn’t drive it that well, especially when I was somewhat in contention. Just wanted to feel a little bit more of the club when I was swinging. It was a little bit whippy for me I guess with the swing speed that I have.“
The Australian then credited Gotterup for inadvertently pushing him into making the change.
“A lot of it was playing with Chris Gotterup,“ the 27-year-old admitted.
“He won last week and he just had the ball on a string with low spin with similar speeds, I guess.
“Yeah, just wanted to try it out and yeah, worked out this week.“
Min Woo Lee comments on the new putter he used at Pebble Beach
The driver wasn’t the only new club in Min Woo Lee’s bag on the Monterey Peninsula this week.
He used a new Callaway putter at Pebble Beach as well, and he had huge success on the greens.
Should Anthony Kim be invited to play in The Masters in April?
The LIV star finished third at Augusta National back in 2010!
“And the putter, it’s a new one,“ he said.
“It’s unreleased. I don’t know if Callaway would honestly want me to say anything about it. It is a very good putter, I really liked it.
“I feel like even the putts that I didn’t hit perfect, they somewhat got close and that’s what I was trying to strive for. Yeah, it’s a good step. They’re both going to be in the bag for a while.“
Min Woo Lee was ranked 26th in strokes gained off the tee and second in strokes gained putting this week at Pebble Beach.
It would be no surprise to see Min Woo Lee win again on the PGA Tour very soon and if he does, he might just have Chris Gotterup to thank!
