Min Woo Lee has hit form at the right time, claiming his first PGA Tour at the Houston Open as the Masters approaches.

Many PGA Tour players take on the Valero Texas Open this week, but focus then switches immediately to The Masters.

Lee has been named a Masters ‘long shot’, with Georgia’s Augusta National playing host to the first major championship of 2025.

He has made six of seven cuts on the PGA Tour in 2025 so far, and now has one win in what also represents a first top 10 finish for Lee.

The success follows a T20 finish at the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, having just missed the cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Min Woo Lee thinks he can win The Masters at Augusta

His sights are now firmly on the Masters and a maiden major championship victory, with Lee not in the field for the Valero Texas Open.

And he is full of confidence for Augusta, having been asked on Pardon My Take if he thinks he can win The Masters.

“I think so!” he said. “I mean, last week was a very big turning moment for me. After the Players a couple of times I have faltered a little bit but I just locked in last week.

“I don’t know why, I think I got a bit embarrassed about how I went about it on Saturday at The Players and I think that is just all a learning curve.

“You want to play as good as the first two rounds, but when you are sleeping on a lead and doing that it’s just part of it. You have to take a moment to realise what happened. How was I acting? How was my body language?

“The second time at The Players a couple of weeks ago was a huge moment for me and a couple of weeks later I have bounced back and took the dub.

“I feel proud of the way I handled myself and that is going to be massive for times coming. Augusta, would be a pretty cool one! I played pretty good there, so we’ll see.”

Lee was unsurprisingly disappointed about his Players Championship decline, having held a four-shot lead with Akshay Bhatia after two rounds before finishing T20.

But he is now all set for his fourth Masters appearance, having taken on the major in each of the last three seasons.

The Australian ace finished T14 first time out and T22 last year, with Lee having missed the cut there in 2023.

Asked if he knows Augusta better now and can play it in a more aggressive manner, he said: “You need to hit it good obviously.

“You need to be on your game. Everyone can just say Augusta is this, this and this. But you still have to hit it really good.

“I came 14th in my first year, and I got really comfortable with it. I don’t know, I love the way it is shaped for me.

“Not too many very straight holes. You need to do something off the tee which I love, which is why I play pretty good at the Players too.

“Sawgrass suits my eye. I don’t mind hitting a draw now and then and when everything is kind of firing it is fun.

“I just love the week. There is something about it, obviously. You just have this feeling that you get there and you’re like this is it. This is the big dance.”
