15-year-old Miles Russell completed his first-ever PGA Tour round relatively unscathed at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit.
Russell made two birdies, two bogeys and one damaging double on the 6th. With the 15-year-old currently in a tie for 128th, he now faces a battle to make the cut.
Akshay Bhatia leads the way on eight under, and defending champion Rickie Fowler is just two shots back after carding a 66.
Russell, however, deserves credit for posting a respectable round in what were highly nerve-wracking conditions.

Speaking after his round, Russell was asked if he was feeling the first tee nerves.
“I was a little nervous,” he explained. “Probably like a seven.”
The 15-year-old revealed that his opening drive was probably his best effort of the day.
He added: “But that was probably the best drive of the day! I should have been nervous all day. But it was a good day. I settled in nicely.”

Russell’s previous outing came during the LECOM Suncoast Classic in the Korn Ferry Tour in April.
Tim Wilding took the title at Lakewood Ranch after a two-hole play-off victory over Steven Fisk and Patrick Cover.
Russell finished T20 on 14 under after carding a five-under round during the final day’s play.
As previously mentioned, the youngster will have to go low on Friday to punch his way into the weekend at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Fans and spectators will undoubtedly be rooting for Russell during his second 18 holes in Michigan.
