Michael Kim took a clear and obvious dig at Bryson DeChambeau on day one of the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.
DeChambeau is one of the most in-form players in world golf right now, although some of his success has been belittled by certain sections of the media due to the fact that he plays on the LIV Golf tour.
However, it cannot be argued that he is still incredibly competitive in major championships, and he is heavily fancied to win the PGA Championship this week.
It was only 11 months ago when he won the US Open!
However, his week at Quail Hollow didn’t get off to the best of starts.

DeChambeau admitted that his new irons were not ready to use at The PGA Championship, so he had to stick with his old trusty set.
At the time of writing, the 31-year-old two-time major winner stood at even par through 12 holes.
And PGA Tour player Kim took the chance to aim a dig at the long-hitting DeChambeau.

DeChambeau has really divided opinion since his switch from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf in 2022.
Some love the two-time US Open champion, whilst others believe that his new-found carefree persona has been concocted.

Sometimes it just seems like DeChambeau is an easy target for criticism.
Kim took to his official X account on Thursday, and took a clear pot-shot at the divisive 31-year-old.
That X post from Kim was a sarcastic nod to the fact that LIV golfers only play three-round tournaments outside of the majors.
However, it must be said that it is a bizarre criticism to make of someone who has won a major within the past year, joking or not.
Bryson DeChambeau’s best finishes in majors since moving to LIV
DeChambeau is arguably the only player who has improved since moving to LIV.
His record in the major championships backs that up as well.
| Major | DeChambeau’s best major finishes since June 2022 |
| US Open 2024 | 1st |
| PGA Championship 2024 | 2nd |
| PGA Championship 2023 | T-4th |
| The Masters | T-5th |
| The Masters | T-6th |
| The Open | T-8th |
Kim’s message on X was obviously thinly veiled in sarcasm.
However, it must annoy DeChambeau when a golfer who is so clearly inferior to him takes pot-shots at him in public.
The Dallas native would love nothing more than to make Kim, and all of his other detractors for that matter, eat humble pie come 7pm Sunday evening.
