Michael Kim is a big name on the PGA Tour now, and not just because of his extremely proficient golf game.

Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka has been one of the biggest stars in the game for nearly a decade, even after he left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf back in 2022.

Of course, Koepka officially left LIV Golf in December, and now he’s looking for somewhere to play regularly in 2026.

It has been suggested that Koepka could compete on the DP World Tour in 2026.

He made his bed, now he should have to lie in it…right?

However, some hugely interesting news broke overnight.

Koepka has now reapplied for his PGA Tour membership as he looks to return to the game’s biggest stage.

However, there will undoubtedly be plenty of hoops that he needs to jump through before a PGA Tour return is possible for him.

It’s no surprise that Kim was one of the first PGA Tour players to react to the Koepka news.

The 32-year-old is one of the most active current players on social media and he always offers really interesting insights into what actually goes on behind the scenes on the PGA Tour.

After it emerged that Koepka had reapplied for his PGA Tour membership, Kim took to his official X account.

He said: “Yooo, Brooks Koepka, practice round soon?

“Too soon?“

Kim obviously posted his messages in jest.

However, the reality of the matter is that Koepka and Kim could well be playing practice rounds together sooner rather than later.

The earliest that Brooks Koepka can return to the PGA Tour

Koepka decided to up sticks from the PGA Tour back in 2022.

And recently, Hudson Swafford – another player who joined LIV from the PGA Tour in 2022 – provided some really insightful information on the situation between the two warring factions.

He lost his LIV card in 2024 and has been in no-man’s land ever since.

Earlier this year, Swafford spoke to GOLF’s Subpar Podcast and explained the PGA Tour’s rules regarding players returning from LIV.

“I’ve had some good back-and-forths with the PGA Tour, but then some wishy-washy,” Swafford explained.

“It’s still not set in stone. I know they’ve set up suspended until ’27, which I know they’re basing that on a couple of people’s contracts being up after the ’26 season, so then they can kind of change rules in favour of everybody coming back.”

If that is indeed true, we can expect to see Koepka back in action on the PGA Tour in 2027 and that seems like a fair outcome for all parties involved.
